The Situation

The network needed accountability for uniforms issued to more than 500 healthcare staff across three hospitals. An employee's role, department, size profile, issued garments, laundry cycles, condition changes, and returns all mattered, but those records were difficult to manage as one lifecycle.

Barcode or RFID scans at laundry intake increment the cycle count. Configurable thresholds can then trigger a replacement workflow and keep the compliance trail attached to the garment record.

Implementation Details

The system separates employee allocation from garment identity, which makes it possible to follow a garment through multiple states without losing its history. Laundry vendors can provide cycle data through an API or CSV, while barcode or RFID scans support direct capture.

Compliance records are timestamped and exportable. That gives operations teams a defensible record for inspections without turning an audit into a manual reconstruction exercise.
